WORX 20V Cordless String Trimmer & Edger

Detailed Review

The WORX WG163 stands out as an excellent entry-level option for homeowners seeking a cordless trimming solution that doesn't require purchasing two separate tools. The 2-in-1 design genuinely delivers on versatility, with a tool-free conversion that takes seconds to accomplish. The Command Feed system is particularly useful for users who prefer manual control over when they deploy fresh line, eliminating the guesswork of automatic feed systems that may advance line when you don't need it.

Build quality reflects the price point well, with thoughtful design touches like the 90-degree tilting head and rubberized guidance wheels that improve cutting precision. At just 5.5 pounds, this trimmer remains comfortable to use even during longer yard work sessions, a significant advantage over heavier models. The inclusion of two 20V batteries and a charger means you can work continuously by swapping batteries, while the adjustable spacer guard provides genuine protection for landscape features and plantings.

The main limitation is the 12-inch cutting width, which works best for smaller properties or detail work on larger yards. If you have extensive trimming needs or prefer variable speed control, WORX's higher-end models in their lineup offer those features. For most residential properties and budget-conscious buyers, however, this model delivers reliable performance and excellent functionality at an attractive price.
