Detailed Review
The SANSUI 27-inch curved gaming monitor represents exceptional value for budget-conscious gamers seeking responsive, high-refresh gameplay. With its 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT response time, this display delivers the speed necessary for competitive shooters and fast-paced action games. The 1500R curve wraps your field of view, creating an immersive experience that noticeably reduces eye strain during marathon gaming sessions compared to flat alternatives.
Color performance stands out for the price tier, featuring 110% sRGB coverage, 4000:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits brightness that make games, movies, and creative work look vibrant and detailed. The gamer-centric software suite includes useful features like black level adjustment for shadow detail, customizable crosshairs, in-game timers, and preset modes optimized for FPS, RTS, and racing games. FreeSync and HDR support further enhance visual quality by eliminating screen tearing and expanding dynamic range when properly configured.
The main trade-offs involve stand flexibility and audio connectivity. The tilt-only stand limits ergonomic adjustment, so users seeking height or swivel functionality should consider a VESA mount. Additionally, there are no built-in speakers, requiring external audio solutions. HDR functionality also depends on HDMI connectivity, making it unavailable for DisplayPort users. Despite these limitations, the overall feature set, display quality, and performance make this monitor an intelligent choice for gamers prioritizing refresh rate and response time without breaking their budget.
